A Changing World: Women Respond Exhibit by: Connecticut Chapter of the Women's Caucus for Art Images & Info	March 1, 2012 – March 30, 2012	Independent curator and artist consultant Laura Einstein chose 40 works by 24 women artists from around the state; the works encompass painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, photography, and installation art. The art speaks to the ways in which women see their changing roles with regard to issues that affect our social, political and societal structures and the exhibit demonstrates the power of art to affect our hearts and minds, and perhaps even to change opinions. Themes addressed in the show include: contemporary feminism, the image of women in myth, and women in roles varying from CEO to wife and mother to goddess. Some works address how violence and terrorism are seen through the feminine lens. An overarching theme is the strength and stamina of women in the face of a changing world.

The Fourth Annual Juried Photography Show Jurors: Miggs Burroughs & Steven Wander Images & Info	December 9, 2011 - January 19, 2012	The Gallery received 105 fine art photos in black & white or color across 5 categories (First Prize Winners in parentheses): Animals (Dory Traski of Wilton for Two Pigs) Artistic & Creative (Jamie Russo of Stamford for Gothic Reading) Landscapes and City Scenes (Ron Lake of Stamford for 9/11 Memorial) People and Portraits (Sandy Gennrich of Stamford for Grief) Pictures That Tell A Story (Shamik Ganguly of Stamford for Albino Child) Additionally, the People's Choice Award is conferred to one photo that receives the most votes from Gallery visitors during the exhibit. "This is one of our favorite exhibits, as it showcases the work of local talent and really brings the community into the University Gallery," says Kerrie Mills, who is in her fourth year of coordinating the photography show.
Color and Line: On and Off the Wall Exhibit by: Sam Wiener & Lori Glavin Images & Info	October 21, 2011 - November 23, 2011	Color and Line: On and Off the Wall is a collection of recent works by sculptor Sam Wiener and multimedia artist Lori Glavin. Mr. Wiener exhibits sculptures and collages united by vibrant color and a feeling of whimsy. Ms. Glavin's works include new polystyrene constructions and related color studies in oil. Bright color, strong line, and energetic patterns complement Mr. Wiener's sculptural works; the result is a complex interplay of color and line.

Levin, Jan McLean, Victoria Sivigny, Jean Swanson, Susan Spaniol, Kelly Taylor, Diane Ward, and Gretchen Wohlgemuth Images & Info	September 16, 2011 - October 17, 2011	Interpretations: Medium as Message is a collection of expressions and explorations of nine mixed media artists that includes art from Karen Larocque of Rowayton, Regina S. Levin of Westport, Jan McLean of Shelton, Victoria Sivigny of Meriden, Jean Swanson of Bethany, Susan Spaniol of West Hartford, Kelly Taylor of Glastonbury, Diane Ward of Farmington, and Gretchen Wohlgemuth of West Hartford.
Faster Than a Speeding Bullet...an Exploration of Funnies, Superheroes and Comic Book Art by Regional Artists Exhibit by:Scott Barnett, Ray Billingsley, Orlando Busino, Jerry Craft, Carl Herring , Jr., Tyler James, Kevin Liell, Frank McLaughlin, Barbara Slate, Everett Soares, Mort Walker, Adam Wallenta and billboard artist Russell Rainbolt Images & Info	August 4, 2011 - September 10, 2011	Faster Than a Speeding Bullet...an Exploration of Funnies, Superheroes and Comic Book Art by Regional Artists is an exhibit that includes a collection of cartoon & comic book art along with a 60-foot long mural by billboard artist Russell Rainbolt depicting the most famous comic characters in the history of America.
The Figure: A Group Show Exhibit by: Joseph Moniz, Valery Thurber, Victor Malinowski, Rachel Constantine and Shane Savage-Rumbaugh Images & Info	June 24, 2011 - July 24, 2011	The Figure: A Group Show is an exhibit of figural works by a group of emerging regional artists who trained and worked in New England. The assembled figural works provide a rare encounter with the beauty, tranquility, and vulnerability of the human figure within fleeting moments and in the midst of arrested movement. A range of styles blend harmoniously to capture the depths of human feeling, explore human relations and solitude, and examine nuances of time, space, and color.

A Retrospective of the Work of Frank Ballard Images & Info	July 2 – September 10, 2010	Puppeteer, designer, director and teacher Frank Ballard passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. Frank Ballard's immense contributions to puppetry in the United States and the world are only beginning to be recognized and understood.

Coleman creates mixed media pieces using acrylic paint and cut or shredded paper/silk on canvas. Her paintings and steel sculptures incorporate her own abstract writings, which are invented, rhythmic languages that flow automatically from her hand.
