Chamber of Commerce kicked off the afternoon by defining the goals
for the Center and in particular, the symposium. Curt Hunter, Dean
of UConn’s School of Business followed with the keynote address
which focused on the economic opportunities and challenges of the
rise of globalization.
During the afternoon, panels
of faculty and business leaders addressed three themes paramount
in toiday’s
global economy: Science and Technology. Human Capital, and Cultural
Diversity.
The goal of each panel was to identify priority research questions
that can be investigated by a collaborative process including research
design, data collection and statistical/data analysis, that would
involve both academic researchers and experts from the business and
cor porate community.
