Dr. James Perrone
Dr. James Perrone earned his PH.D. in Clinical
Psychology at St. John's University. He is a licensed psychologist
in the state of Connecticut, with areas of specialization in attention
deficit/learning disabilities, intelligence assessment, and psychological
counseling with adolescents and young adults. He has consulted with
local businesses and corporations on matters of disabilities, career
development, and leadership training.
Dr. Perrone was awarded Faculty of the Year in 1998. At UCONN/Stamford,
he is mainly responsible for the courses within a clinical/counseling
orientation, but he often teaches sections of Introductory Psychology
(PSY 132-133). He regularly offers upper division courses such as
Social Psychology (PSY 240), Abnormal Psychology (PSY 245), Emotional
and Behavioral Disorders in Children (PSY 249) and Introduction
to Clinical Psychology (PSY 269). Dr. Perrone also teaches in Summer
Sessions.
In addition, he serves as the on-campus psychological counselor.
Dr. Perrone resides in Monroe, CT, is married with two children.
He spent several years as a soccer and basketball coach. He has
avid interests in music, politics, and athletics.
